The past year brought its share of challenges and accomplishments, and we’re proud of what we achieved together as a team. Each contribution—big or small—helped move us forward.

Whether it’s launching new initiatives, refining how we work, or supporting one another in new ways, the year ahead is full of potential. January is also a great moment to reflect on personal and professional goals and think about how we can align them with our team’s priorities.

Larenai Swann, Design & Marketing Coordinator

Larenai draws inspiration from her grandmother, whose strength, kindness, and calm resilience influence how she approaches both life and work. Those qualities shine through in everything she does at WareSpace.

She joined WareSpace to be part of building something meaningful and loves the variety her role brings. One of her favorite parts of the job is sharing tenant growth stories, which allows her to highlight the incredible small businesses we support and better understand the impact WareSpace has on entrepreneurs every day. Whether she’s engaging with our community online or helping showcase available spaces, Larenai knows her work helps business owners find the right place to grow.

Outside of work, Larenai spent a month studying abroad in Scotland—trying new foods like haggis, feeding Highland cows, and even taking a dip in Loch Ness. That experience sparked her love for exploring new places and cultures. She lives by the advice to choose “oh wells” over “what ifs,” a mindset that encourages her to embrace new opportunities and make the most of every experience.

Each January, we pause to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose leadership, courage, and commitment to equality continue to inspire generations. Dr. King’s message of service, unity, and justice reminds us of the power of empathy, respect, and standing up for what is right.

As we reflect on his words and actions, we are encouraged to consider how we can carry these values forward through our work, our relationships, and our impact on the communities we serve. Creating a culture rooted in inclusion, dignity, and opportunity aligns with the principles Dr. King championed throughout his life.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we honor his legacy not only in remembrance, but through action by listening, learning, and finding meaningful ways to serve others.
